The combined talents of northerners Stu Hanna and Debbie Palmer make the award winning duo Megson. “Energetic, fast flowing improvising from two of the most imaginative jazz players on the scene, together for the first time as a duo” is how Jazzwise magazine describes the collaboration between distinctive British Jazz Pianist Robert Mitchell and Cuban violin virtuoso Omar Puente. Omar plays regularly with Courtney Pine and Denis Baptiste and is a jazz tutor at Leeds College of Music. The duo’s highly acclaimed recent album, “Bridges”, covers a wide range of musical ground, taking in not only Jazz and Cuban music, but also overt classical influences. Lyrical, approachable and thoroughly enjoyable music.
