A COCKERMOUTH amateur photographer will have a picture featured in the 2010 calendar from BBC programme Countryfile.
David Stephenson, 61, of Romley Place, beat off 31,000 other hopefuls, and his photograph of a tree on crags, taken in North Yorkshire, will be used as February.
It is the third time that one of David’s photos will be used in a Countryfile calendar.
A photo he took of a porcelain fungus was last featured in 2005, and in 2004 his photo of Bassenthwaite Lake appeared.
The calendar will be sold in aid of Children in Need.
An overall winner will be picked from the images in the calendar with a public vote, which closes on Sunday.
The photographer with the most votes will win £1,000 of photography equipment.
Another winner will be chosen by the judges and both will be announced on Countryfile on October 4.
